Why I want to make you Laugh

My name is Kat Simmons, and I have something to offer you. If laughter is the best medicine then I am your remedy.

I grew up a freckle faced, chipped tooth, red headed little girl, who just knew if she had blonde hair and blue eyes, and change her name to Nora, everything would be better.

Well, this never happened, and I finally grew up to be me, because everyone else was already taken. After spending the first half of my life wishing I were different, I now accept who I have become. I love to help people embrace their uniqueness. I love to give women permission to age gracefully and to not hide from what is a part of life. It takes a lot of energy to be who you are not.

I became fascinated with Norman Cousins' work many years ago, and soon realized that wellness was in fact a laughing matter. If I could help people laugh themselves well, and share my authentic story with them, what could be better? So, I drove off to Hollywood with a car and a dream, and that was it. That was 26 years ago, and now I have the pleasure of doing what I love, while making the world a better place, one laugh at a time.

Recently, I have shifted my focus to women's groups, hospitals, health and wellness seminars, and survivor's events. It is my greatest pleasure to be able to take people to a better place, through laughter. It changes your chemistry, lowers your blood pressure, builds your immune system and is like internal jogging.

We all need to laugh more, it can in fact be a life saver.
